Spring Leather

I've mentioned in a previous post {here} that I love leather apparel and would love to figure out a way to wear it during spring or even early summer. Below is my idea of the perfect spring outfit involving leather; it has light neutrals and turquoise pieces to balance out the black leather pants. I will DEFINITELY be on the lookout for leather leggings on sale once I can shop again!

Designer Spotlight: Loeffler Randall

One of my favorite brands for luxe accessories is Loeffler Randall. I discovered Loeffler Randall years ago when reading a fashion magazine and immediately noticed their simple yet luxurious leather flat boots. Their products are of the best quality, and I love the way they have expanded their brand to include gorgeous handbags as well; the Rider bag has become an iconic handbag in the fashion world, and I can honestly say it's one of my favorite handbags out right now. Invest in Fashion

I've mentioned previously how I love discovering new up-and-coming designers, but I especially love it when they are local designers in Columbus! Genoveva Christoff is a talented CCAD (Columbus College of Art and Design) graduate that has made a name for herself not only in Columbus, but nationally as well. After debuting her first collection at CMH Fashion Week 2011, Genoveva was handpicked by Diet Pepsi to show her designs at the Diet Pepsi Studio Show at Lincoln Center and display them throughout Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2012; she won 2nd place, out of 676 dress designs, for Adrianna Papell for E! Live from the Red Carpet design contest in February 2012. I saw Genoveva's line go down the runway for CMH Fashioion Week 2012, and I absolutely loved it; her clothes are feminine, chic, and modern, and I will DEFINITELY be shopping around for her collection once I can shop again!

So how does one go about buying or supporting an amazing young designer like Genoveva? Well, by using the newly launched crowd-funding platform for the international fashion industry is how! IAmLaMode {check out here} is the first fashion-related crowd-funding platform that allows you to invest in designers whose collections you'd like to see come to life; each designer requires a minimum amount of money in order to have their collection produced. CMH Fashion Week 2013: Final Designer Casting

The designer castings have ended for CMH Fashion Week 2013, and I am honestly blown away by the dedication, talent, and originality of the designers this year. It was a an amazing day getting to witness the process of designers showcasing their designs, and to spend time with the incredible CMH Fashion Week Board once again.
