Columbus Living

I love spending days checking out locally owned spots around Columbus, especially if it involves food or coffee.  I recently spent an afternoon visiting my favorite small businesses around Columbus {including The Candle Lab, easily a favorite!} and spending time with the boy who was in town.  It was a beautiful sunny day, but unfortunately too cold for my taste; the only upside of colder weather is I can still rock my FAVORITE slouchy sweater that is both chic and comfy.

Clover Canyon love

I don't often splurge on statement pieces, but there is something about a Clover Canyon dress that just speaks to me.  Their pieces are so unique, fresh, and original; I may just have to buy one of their dresses once I can shop again! March Madness

Colors + Patterns

I've been having a love affair with fashion for as long as I can remember, and there is one thing I've noticed about women who have the BEST fashion sense: they aren't afraid to mix and match.  They take risks and never wear cliche ensembles {I despise matchy-matchy}.  When I think back on outfits I wore in college, I cringe: skinny jeans tucked into Uggs, a North Face fleece, and a Coach wristlet with the "C"s all over it - how boring is that?  Not that there is anything wrong with those brands, but it is so much more appealing to me to wear something unexpected even if most people don't appreciate it.  Below is a collage one such outfit, and I wish so badly I could shop for it! C Town

I moved to Columbus almost 3 years ago {and love it!}, but I also love the city I'm from: Cleveland! There are always plenty of jokes associated with Cleveland {ie, "mistake on the lake"}, but it really is a great city with plenty of history, an AWESOME foodie scene, and a growing fashion scene.  One example of Cleveland's emerging fashion scene is the CLE Clothing Company, a local clothing company dedicated to spreading CLE pride {check out here}.  I received one of their totes for Christmas from a friend and I absolutely LOVE it! I get so many compliments from fellow Ohioans/Clevelanders, and I love representing a local Cleveland business.

CMH Fashion Week 2013: Designer Casting

The preparations for CMH Fashion Week 2013 have begun! I am so excited to be involved in CMH Fashion Week again this year, and was already blown away by the talent of the designers who came to the first Designer Casting last weekend.  It was a wonderful afternoon checking out the talent in Columbus, and spending time with the amazing CMH Fashion Week board members.  Cheers to another year of fabulous fashion in Ohio's capital city!
