3 Months of No Shopping

As of August 13th, 2012, I have officially gone one quarter of a year without shopping! It has been an exciting journey so far, and I have actually been enjoying not shopping and putting my time and money towards other things! People have often asked me how I do it, and how hard it is not to shop; I will admit it has not been the easiest challenge I've experienced.  There have been many times where I have wanted to make a fashion-related purchase, and I know I would have if I had not taken this no shopping vow.  Whether it be through online shopping, or browsing local boutiques, there have been many urges to shop along the way thus far.  Here are some of my greatest temptations so far on my no shopping journey:

LOCAL TEMPTATIONS {Columbus & Cleveland}

The Emperor's Newest Clothes {check out their Facebook page here}

Rowe Boutique in the Short North {check them out here}

Ladybird Boutique {check them out here

vintage jewelry at an outdoor fair in Ohio City

TJ MAXX TEMPTATIONS

Tory Burch dress {how perfect for the Holidays?!}

lovely striped Alice + Olivia dress

gorgeous Ippolita resin bangle

cheetah print Nanette Lepore dress

ONLINE SHOPPING TEMPTATIONS

These are just some of the few temptations I have experienced within the last 3 months.  I am sure I will have many, many more, and all of my blog readers are welcome to purchase any of these temptations and let me borrow them!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

xoxo

  4. I admire your shopping ban challenge so much I started my own. I have discovered that I have an full closet and its so easy just to style with what you already have. I do not miss shopping for clothes as they are so expensive now. If I pass them now I am shocked at the prices and not interested. I also heard of another money challenge. put all your 5.00 bills in a saving jar. Do not spend any of them. One of my friends saved 1200 by years end last year. Congrats on your sucessful challenge and inspiring others to do the same. We all need to reuse and recycle and stop the madness of consumerism.
    Lexie p.s. Cool blog well done

  8. WOW! I don't know how you do it. It would be a struggle for me to go more than a week without shopping! This is an awesome concept though and I can't wait to see how you feel after a year. Good luck!!
